I'm a Professional Celebrant with years of experience, specialising in non-religious Funeral, Wedding and Baby Naming ceremonies, serving clients right across West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and the North West of England, from my home town of Todmorden.
I always see it as an honour to have been asked to deliver many types of non-religious ceremonies, including; Funerals, Couple Celebrations - Weddings, Commitment Ceremonies, Renewal of Vows, Baby Naming and Civil Services.
My role will always be to deliver each and every ceremony, with the utmost respect, dedication and sensitivity.
Before becoming a professional celebrant, I served my country for over 24 years in the Army before being medically discharged. This very turn of events meant that I experienced first hand, the difficulties and hardship that ex-members of the armed forces often face, when discharged back into civilian life.
I immediately sought out a route to try and at least play some sort of role in helping this situation by working with Remploy, to support sick and injured soldiers back into employment - a role I thoroughly enjoyed and found most fulfilling.
After a few years working with Remploy and subsequently meeting the person who would become my wife, I decided to gain professional training to become a Professional Celebrant and pursue my passion of supporting others. It's a decision that i'm delighted to this day, that I made.
As a character, I am calm, confident and eloquent. I am at ease in all social occasions and find it easy to instigate conversations with new people. I find my friendly disposition enables my clients to feel at ease when meeting me too.
I care deeply about the clients that I represent.
When we meet to discuss planning the ceremony, I always think it is important for to really get to know and understand the people who's lives I am representing, in order to find the right words, to communicate perfectly, what needs saying on the day.
The client feedback I get is incredibly rewarding, to know i've helped, even in only a small way, to make a very difficult time, that bit easier.
